    5. Risk is bad. Certainty is good. When a culture of fear emerges within an organization, whether it’s fear of failure or fear of success, it squelches personal and organizational innovation. All brilliance demands risk. It is the novelty of the connection that is the very definition of brilliance, and the closer “to the expected” an idea is the less likely it is to be brilliant. 6. You don’t need a safety net. You can figure this out. The idea of being out there, with nothing to catch you if everything goes wrong may make your stomach do little flips, but really, you’ll be just fine. 8 Things I Wish I Knew When I Was 22 | almostfearless.com

This is a piece of work…it’s just to bad that I can’t afford the one I want right now.
I guess the real thing to do is start setting aside a piece of each paycheck so that one day I can buy the machine of my dreams (and a cine display or two)

Question: How do I know if I should get out of the company I work for?
Answer: I talked to one corporate escapee who made her decision after a senior manager threw a Lucite paperweight at her head. That’s a pretty good sign. But for most of us, the decision isn’t quite as clear cut. No job is great all the time. You have to diagnose what it is that’s making you unhappy. Are you just having a horrible week? Is there something you can do to make your current job more satisfying? If not, you owe it to yourself to get out.

    Job Hunt

I’m supposed to be hearing back today if I get an offer from WayFM in Nashville.

    If I don’t hear, I guess I am to suspect I didn’t get it.

*ok ok we get it apple you’re proud of your phone. to be honest the only astonishing thing Steve Jobs said was that the price was again cut in half, much to 1st gen buyer’s chagrin. Even though I love my mac I think apple has gotten a little full of itself.*

    a man and a mission.

I’m starting this blog to keep track of what could be an interesting job hunt. I needed something separate with kind of an anonymous identity. (don’t worry I’m not naive enough to think this cannot be searched).

You see I hold a degree in audio production and I work as an A/V technician. I feel extremely stifled in what I’m doing at the moment and I love design. So I’m going to begin my pursuit of happiness.

Anyone who reads this, feel free to give tips, tricks or suggestions on where to go, what to do, how to apply and what to read

Step 1: Make a design portfolio (check)
Step 2: Begin sending it out (partial check)
    Step 3: I haven’t gotten that far.
